FAQ

Quick answers to everything we get asked.

Calculator basics

How does the AliExpress tariff calculator work?

Paste the product URL, choose your country, and we fetch the price, convert to USD, then apply your country’s import duty + VAT to estimate the landed cost.

Are the rates accurate?

They are AI-compiled effective-rate estimates refreshed every 24 hours. Treat them as a strong baseline, not a guaranteed figure. Each result page shows a confidence score.

Which currencies are supported?

AliExpress displays prices in your local currency. We auto-detect 25+ formats including USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, BDT, INR, PKR, JPY, KRW, BRL, MXN, AED, SAR, and more.

How are shipping costs estimated?

When no shipping is shown, we estimate AliExpress Standard Shipping by item price (typically $1.50 to $18). Use the Chrome extension on the product page to capture the seller’s exact shipping quote.

Accounts & credits

Why do I need an account?

To prevent abuse. Free credits would otherwise be exploited by scrapers. Signup is one email field and one password — no card.

How many free credits do I get?

50 on signup. Each calculation costs 1 credit. Credits never expire.

What if I run out?

You can top up with 1,000 more credits for a one-time $1.99 via Gumroad. Or use the free Chrome extension, which has no credit limits because it runs locally.

Can I share my account?

It is tied to your email. We don’t enforce strict device limits — but sharing widely would burn through credits quickly.

Chrome extension

Is the extension really free?

Yes — permanently. No signup, no premium tier on the extension itself. Premium features (bulk, CSV export) live on the website.

What permissions does it need?

Only access to *.aliexpress.com pages. Nothing else.

Does it work on every AliExpress region?

Yes — .com, .us, .ru, and the European storefronts.

Accuracy & disclaimers

Will my actual customs bill match the estimate?

Usually yes within a small margin. Differences come from: HS-code-specific rates, courier brokerage fees ($5–$25), and AliExpress’s own IOSS VAT collection.

What if my country isn’t listed?

We cover 30+ of the busiest AliExpress destinations. If yours is missing, email us — we’ll add it within a week if the rate data is available.

Can I rely on this for customs paperwork?

No. AliTariffs is informational — not a customs broker. For large or commercial imports, use a licensed broker.

Privacy & affiliate

Do you track me?

We use server-side analytics (no third-party cookies) only to count page views. Your calculations are stored only against your account.

Are the AliExpress links affiliate-tagged?

Yes — the “Buy on AliExpress” button uses our affiliate short-link. It doesn’t change your price or share your identity. We earn a small commission on qualifying purchases.
